After gaining industry experience at Hamilton Watch Co., he pursued his vision of creating fine mechanical timepieces in the U.S.

The company produces bespoke watches like the Caliber 801, Pennsylvania Tourbillon, and Caliber 20, celebrating its commitment to in-house-made movements. Brief Bio
Roland Murphy began his journey in horology at the Bowman Technical School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Seeking to deepen his expertise, he continued his education at the prestigious WOSTEP program in Neuchâtel, Switzerland—a global center for traditional watchmaking. Murphy launched his professional career in 1987 with the Hamilton Watch Company, where he quickly rose through the ranks to become Technical Director of product development. Driven by a passion for American craftsmanship, he founded RGM Watch Co. in 1992 in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. In 2007, RGM achieved a historic milestone by introducing the first high-grade mechanical movement produced in series in the United States since 1969—reviving a proud tradition of American watchmaking and positioning RGM as a leader in the modern resurgence of domestic horology.
